Setting up CNAME redirect using a 3rd party vendor

For those that purchased their domain name from places other than the KWDomainStore.com, here are the three basic steps that need to be completed in order to use your personal domain name in place of the dynamic URL KW assigns your website:

1)Set up a CNAME Record (Alias) on the 'www' host for the domain you would like to use for your website - Login to the website you used to purchase your domain name and navigate to the area where DNS and MX records are managed and controlled. Point the 'www' host to your agent website URL (example.yourkwagent.com) – Your full URL is in the instruction at the top of Step 1.1 Edit Domain Info of the Agent Website Administration Tool. It might help to contact the support team of the company you purchasd your domain name from if assistance is needed with this step.

2)Forward the A-Record to the new CNAME Record (Alias) – While still inside the domain name management and control, find the domain Forwarding option. Forward your domain to your new alias. (e.g. Forward http://example.com  to http://www.example.com

3)In Step 1.1 Edit Domain Info of the Agent Website Administration Tool, add the Aliased website in the 'Add or Edit Domain' section at the bottom. – Add the http://www.example.com domain name you have chosen to Alias your Agent Website in this field.

Helpful Notes:

**These steps can take hours to take effect. Please read about how long your domain name company requires or allow up to 24 hours for the changes to take place.

**It's a good idea to choose one domain name to Alias your Agent Website. However, it is perfectly acceptable to 'forward' as many domain names as you like to your Alias. (e.g. firstnamelastname.com, secondexample.com, thirdexample.com all forward to http://www.example.com )
