Ignite is a foundational course covering the skills it takes to become the real estate expert of choice. Ignite propels agents into immediate productivity while setting the foundation for success and growth in any market and any stage of their career.
- In many cases, the printed course materials are provided for you on the first day of class, but you can access the Ignite Resources page, and download any of the content on the Materials tab.
Each Ignite day is divided up into two hours of hands-on instruction and two hours of lead generation using the Ignite Success System. Participants learn the business of real estate through four fundamental pillars:
- Becoming the real estate expert
- Creating a lead generation system based on your sphere of influence
- Creating a lead follow-up system using Command
- Managing the transaction from appointment to post-close
As you are attending Ignite, use the article below to access resources and Command training that you can use in conjunction with the course content to set yourself up for success:
Ignite Daily Success System
Ignite provides a great introduction to all of the various resources KW has to offer. Use the article linked below for an easy reference to all of the great things mentioned in the course:
Know your KW Login Credentials
One of the biggest roadblocks for many agents, when using Command in conjunction with Ignite, is not knowing their KW login credentials. These login credentials are universal to all of the systems we use in KW like mykw.kw.com, kwconnect.com, Command, and the Command App. Start on the right foot, by ensuring you can log in to Command, resetting your password if needed:
Add Contacts
As you start having conversations with your sphere of influence through the Daily Success System, make sure to add everyone you talk to, or plan to talk to, in Command. This will allow you to start on the path to building your database and systematizing your lead generation:
Add Activities and Notes to Contacts
With each conversation you have, you learn new information and will want to keep track of how often you are engaging with contacts in your database. Each time you have an interaction with a contact, add that interaction as an activity and add notes about that interaction. The next time you talk to that contact, you will quickly be able to access the notes from your past interactions:
- Add an Activity to a Lead/Contact in Command
- Add a Note to a Lead/Contact in Command
- Add an Activity to a Lead or Contact in the Command App
- Add a Note to a Lead or Contact in the Command App
1. Real Estate Expert
Language of Real Estate
The report we use for this is the Multi-year Trends Report. There are two versions of this report, one for Market Centers, with a focus on MC growth and aggregate production, and one for agents, with a focus on individual agent production:
- Access the Market Center Multi-year Trends Report (Leadership Only)
- Access the Agent Multi-year Trend Report
Value Proposition
As you are working through building out your value proposition, make sure to go into Command and use that to put your best foot forward by completing your KW Marketing Profile. and setting up your KW App and Site. You can then start sharing with the people you are interacting with and capture new leads:
- Complete Your Marketing Profile
- Get Started with the KW App (consumer facing)
- Set Up Your KW Agent Site
2. Lead Generation
Establish Your Database
Once you get used to the basics, you will be ready to establish your database, in Command, and organize those contacts in a way that makes sense for your business. You can import a spreadsheet of contacts and/or sync the contacts you already have in your phone or other systems you might be using, as a good starting place:
- Import your contacts:
- Sync phone contacts using API Nation:
- Create and manage tags for organization:
Database Health Report
The Database Health Report provides a good overview of how many leads/contacts you have in your database, but more importantly puts a focus on the lead sources they came from and how much information you are adding to each person's contact record:
Create Designs for Communication and Lead Generation
As you start lead generating (sending emails, door knocking, posting on social media, etc.), you can use the Designs applet, in Command, to create free professional designs that are branded to you and your business:
Communicate with Your Segments
Once you have established your database, in Command, utilize Tasks in Command to systematize your process and ensure no contact is missed. You also have the ability to create one-off email campaigns to provide a quick and easy touchpoint, to a group of contacts in your database:
- Create and manage tasks to set up for success:
- Send one-off emails in Command:
Capture Leads with Social Media
In Command, you can connect your social media business pages with your Command account. This will enable you to run social ad campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google Adwords. You can also create and schedule social posts on Facebook ad Twitter. You can do all of this within Command, without having to go to each platform to create and track these individually:
- NAR Social Media Guidelines
- Connect Your Applications in Command Settings (focus on social ad/posting items)
- Create a Social Ad Campaign
- Create and Manage Social Posts
Agent-to-Agent referrals
Another way to generate revenue and find new business is to use the Referrals platform in Command. Track referral patterns, find and connect with awesome KW agent referral partners, send and receive referrals, and then track those referrals all the way through to close:
- View Referral Patterns in Command
- Use the Map to Find a Referral Partner
- Send a Referral

Whether your utilize pre-made SmartPlans or create your own, this allows you to set automated tasks, emails, and text messages (using Twilio in Command) in your SmartPlan workflow. Once you set these up, all you need to do is add contacts to the SmartPlan, and the system takes care of the rest:
- Twilio and texting in Command:
- Utilize SmartPlans to systematically communicate with your database:
Introduction to Opportunities
Opportunities is the system we use to track our current and potential transactions, within Command. Each Opportunity (current or potential transaction) starts at the Cultivate Phase, where you can track an Opportunity before you have even set an appointment, and will be tracked through to the Closed Phase. In the Lead Follow-up section of Ignite, the focus is on identifying contacts who are ready willing and able to do business with you.
The Cultivate phase, in Opportunities is perfect for this, where you can customize your Opportunity pipelines with stages and custom checklists, to ensure you systematically cultivate contacts to get them to an appointment:
- Customize Your Opportunity Pipelines
- Create and Edit Opportunity Task Checklists
- Create and Manage Opportunity Tags
- Create an Opportunity
4. Transaction
Seller/Buyer Guides
In Designs, there are pre-made listing and buyer presentation templates that have been professionally created and provided for your use. You can access the templates, and then customize the content to your branding and the clients needs. You can then download the design and present at the appointment:
Transact in Opportunities
You have already had an introduction to Opportunities, in the Lead Follow-up section above, but the Transactions section is where Opportunities becomes the main focus. This is where you can customize the transaction phases of your pipelines to fit your transaction process, and where you can get documents signed, submit compliance checklists to your Market Center leadership for approval, and submit Commission Requests once the transaction is closing:
