We have introduced new security measures in Command and CommandMC to increase protection against malicious content being sent through our platform via email or text. These new security measures primarily involve sending emails and texts through our platform, including Email Campaigns, SmartPlans, and one-off emails/texts.
- If a SmartPlan Email or Text fails due to these measures, only that step will fail. The next step on the SmartPlan will execute on its normal schedule.
- If an email or text message fails due to these measures, you will not be charged any credits for that message.
- If you are unsure about whether a currently active SmartPlan's emails are sending out properly, use the Command Email Report, and look for "Undelivered" emails.
There are three main security measures to be aware of within Command and CommandMC:
URL Verification
The URL verification system will block texts and emails that include shortened URLS (Bitly, TinyURL, etc.). While convenient, these URL Shorteners are often used to disguise longer, malicious links, with no security checks in place. Emails or texts with shortened URLs also have a much higher chance of ending up in spam or not being delivered by the carriers.
Content Validation
To monitor for suspicious behavior, we are introducing content validation for emails and texts. This security measure blocks certain keywords and phrases such as terms related to cryptocurrency, drugs, and pornography—categories that associates should not need to share and are often linked to malicious content.
Best Practices
To ensure your messages (email or text) are delivered, it's important to test them first. Create a new test contact in Command (or test recruit), and send it through your SmartPlans and upcoming campaigns (or you can test your messages by sending the content as a one-off email or text). If you don't receive a message, check your test contact’s timeline, where you will find an "Undelivered" Timeline Event that includes a link to an article for further assistance.
