Background
1. Click the Background toggle to access:
2. Next, you can change the overall Body Width of the email, and the outside border Container Padding (how much space between the outside border and content).
- The recommended email width is at least 600px.
- With Body Width, you will see an option to use a percentage instead of PX (Pixels), it is not recommended to use the percentage. If you do, make sure you use the preview and ensure everything looks correct.
3. Finally, you can choose if you want a solid Background Color, or Background Image: (careful with this, text you add to the email will overlay on top of this background. If it's too dark or
- Background Color - use the Background Color box to use the color scale functionality (or the Hex Color box to enter the Hex color value) to choose the exact color you want for your background (you'll be able to choose text colors later to contrast with what you choose here).
-
Background Image - choose Image, then click Replace (below the image placeholder), and you'll see 3 options:
- My Images - this will show all of the images you have added previously in the Command Email Editor, in the past. Click an image and you will see it populate in the email.
- Listing Images - this will pull up a listing search to pull listing images from. Not recommended for the background.
- Add Images - drag and drop an image file or click to browse your computer for the image you want to add. An thumbnail of the image will appear at the bottom of the pop-up, click the thumbnail, then click Replace.
Layout Blocks
1. In the Layout section, you will see all of the possible layout options. This creates segmented space, like building blocks for your email. You will be able to fill in these Layout Blocks with content, in the next section. Drag the Layout Block you want to add to the area of the email you want it.
- The Divider option doesn't create space for content, but is a straight line you can use to visually separate Layout Blocks.
2. If you click inside of a Layout Block, you will see options on the right side of the page to control the specifics around the background within that Layout Block. This includes Background Color and Border Settings (width and color of the border).
- The Divider has it's own settings, which includes Height (how thick you want the line to be), Width of the divider line, Line Color, Container Padding (how much space around the line, which separates it from the content around it), and it's Position (alignment).
- It's not recommended to use the Border Radius setting. This creates a circle within the Layout Block, but it will not allow you to enter content strictly within that circle.
3. If you need to delete a Layout Block, click the block, then select the Delete icon, , that appears above or below the Layout Block.
- You will see these Layout Blocks, along with their Container Padding, as separate containers. The container you select determines what is deleted in this way. With a 2 Column Layout Block, you can delete the entire block, or just one of the containers (which would turn it into a 1 Column Layout Block).
- Ignore the other options that appear with the Delete icon. Those will become important when talking about adding content.
Content Blocks
1. Once you have your Layout Block(s) set, you can move to the Content section and start dragging Content Blocks into place. As you drag a Content Block into place, it will open up the right side of the page to configure the content. You can skip this for later, and will see the configuration screen appear as you click on content placeholders within the email.
