When you are added to a team, you get access to two separate versions of Command, your personal Command account, and the team Command account. These two accounts are kept separate from each other, and each will have separate sets of contacts, tags, lead sources and custom fields, in addition to separate SmartPlans, Opportunities, etc.
Once you get access to the team, you have the ability to move contacts from your personal Command account over to the team Command account. Once you do, the new Team Contact Tags, Team Custom Fields, and Team Custom Lead Sources will need to be reapplied to these contacts, as your personal tags, lead sources and custom fields will be different from what is set up in the team account. Because of this, there are some things built into Command that will assist with this transition and some best practices that should be considered.
Legacy Tags, Fields, and Lead Sources
All custom tags, custom fields, and lead sources that were added to contacts prior to them being moved to the team Command account will remain on the contact in the Team Contact Database. This information will be labeled as "Legacy" on the contact card and will remain on the contact unless it is removed or if the contact ownership is changed to a different team member. Keep in mind that these "Legacy" tags, fields, and lead sources can not be added to other contacts in the team Command account, and are meant to be temporary while the new Team Contact Tags, Fields, and Lead Sources are applied to the contacts.
Legacy tags, fields and lead sources can be removed once new team tags are applied to the contact, but only the contact owner has the ability to remove these. These legacy items do not show up in settings, so they must be removed by editing the specific contact you (the contact owner) want to remove them from.
