You might have noticed that for some reason contacts that don’t have an email address cannot be synced. In this article we’ll explain why and how to get them in sync.
The reason why PieSync does not sync contact lacking an email address is because the email address is being used to identify unique contacts. This means that if a contact does not have an email address, PieSync has no idea whether that same contact already exists in the other app or not. If it were to sync that contact, it could lead to a duplicate contact being created. That is something PieSync wants to prevent.
The setting that is blocking contacts without email addresses from syncing is called the Avoid Duplicates checkbox. This a checkbox is fixed when connecting to Command, meaning you cannot uncheck it yourself. Please Contact PieSync Support if you want it disabled.
